Dr. Shashi Kant

Prof. Shashi is the Director of Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) Program at University of Toronto. Shashi is also Professor of Forest Resource Economics and Management at the Faculty of Forestry in University of Toronto, with emphasis on economics of sustainable forest management. He has published five books and more than 100 refereed journal articles and book chapters. He is leading a Global Research Initiative called New Frontiers of Forest Economics (NEFFE). He is editor-in-chief of a book series, Sustainability, Economics and Natural Resources, published by Springer. He is Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Forest Research and Journal of Forest Economics. He has guest edited three special volumes of Forest Policy and Economics. He is a member of the selection committee for the Soren Wibe Prize in Forest Economics. On February 27, 2018, Dr. Shashi Kant was awarded the Order of Ontario, the province’s highest honour. The Order is bequeathed by the Lieutenant Governor, and is reserved for those whose contribution has left a lasting legacy in the province, Canada, and beyond. Shashi was awarded the 2016 Life Science Award from the AI Global Media Ltd, International Publishing Group. He is also the recipient of many awards: Queen’s Award for Forestry (2008), the Scientific Achievement Award of Canadian Institute of Forestry (2007), the Scientific Achievement Award of the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations (IUFRO) (2005), and the Ontario’s Premier Research Excellence Award (2004) for his research. He has also received International Students Excellence Award, City of Toronto, (2012). Shashi has presented many times at scientific meetings and seminars and conducted workshops all over the world on Sustainable Forest Management, Evolving Paradigms of Forest Management, Natural Resource Conservation, and many related topics.

Dr. Jagdish Yadav

Dr. Yadav is a qualified and experienced professional who currently focuses on post-secondary education and economic development in Toronto with particular emphasis on internationalization. He facilitates inter-institutional communication and collaboration, works with communities, industry and businesses, initiates innovative ways to enhance student experience, and facilitates dialogue among entrepreneurs, universities and colleges to promote innovation and entrepreneurial activities. His work for international students was acclaimed to be unique and outstanding, and recognized internationally. He started his career as a forest officer in India, later specializing into participatory natural resources management and multi objective resource planning. During early career, he managed a new plant based chemical company. He has published extensively including a book on micro planning. He worked in both the public and private sectors in different countries. As a Research Fellow at the University of Toronto, he worked on intellectual property rights; then later as Business Development Officer contributed to its international research development. At various stages working in different capacities as administrator, researcher and community and business facilitator, he has supervised a large staff component, planned, implemented and monitored large scale developmental and conservation projects and mobilized resources. Dr. Yadav has a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh (UK), a Master of Biotechnology from the University of Toronto (Canada) and a Master of Science from the Kurukshetra University (India). In 1993, he was awarded Commonwealth Fellowship in United Kingdom. In addition, he is an authorized Canadian Immigration Consultant.

Prof. Satyendra Narayan

Dr. Satyendra Narayan is a professor of applied computing in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology at Sheridan Institute of Technology in Ontario, Canada.  He holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo and a master’s degree from the University of California with specializations in computing and physical sciences. Satyendra has 25+ years of teaching and research experience in the field of applied computing, geosciences and geo-engineering, and has published several papers, articles, and reports. Before joining Sheridan, Satyendra worked in the scientific computing industry and was involved in collaborative research in the area of environmental geophysics with the Lamont Earth Observatory, University of Columbia. He has also contributed significantly to, and established strong research partnerships with, the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, India; Regional Research Laboratory (RRL), Bhopal, India; Institut Teknologi Bandung, Bandung, Indonesia; Ministry of Research and Technology, Indonesia; PT Ephindo, Jakarta, Indonesia; and the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. 

Satyendra is a recipient of Sheridan’s best teaching excellence award of merit and the Leadership in Faculty Teaching Award in recognition of his exemplary efforts to influence, motivate and inspire students. Satyendra has been an active member of various committees at Sheridan (e.g., Student Advisement and Success Advisory Committees, Sheridan Creative Industries Committee, etc.) and has been a coordinator and adviser for several programs.

He is also holding TSSA First class power engineer, Project Management Professional (PMP), U.K. Chief Marine Engineer licenses. Vikas has over 32 years of diversified industry experience in operations & maintenance, projects, commissioning and  engineering. He has been working in various senior management roles and capacities at Power plants, Co-generation plants & Energy from Waste (WTE) plants, Manufacturing Industry and Marine.Presently He is working as Chief Operating Engineer & Area
Manager at Stelco Inc.
